- James Nolan Review added: 2018.05.09★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, the place was clean and well maintained. That's the good bit. The downside was the music from the bar below, which is owned by the same people as the hostel. It was so loud that I could hear the words clearly, the floor and walls were vibrating with the noise. It was impossible to sleep and the very uncomfortable beds didn't help. Probably one of the worst nights sleep I've had in a hostel. I can not recommend staying here and I will not return.
- Craig Johnsen Review added: 2017.12.11★ ★ ★ ★ ★I stayed for two nights at The Fort. The room was clean and the price was very reasonable. The staff there were all friendly and polite, as an added bonus when staying at The Fort any food purchased from the bar and restaurant downstairs from it is discounted. The location is excellent too, only a few minutes walk from most of the popular attractions in York. I will be staying there again.
